Counseling at Littleton
A Work of Littleton’s C.A.R.E. Ministry
The Ellison Family
Troy trained and served five years as a counselor at Exchanged Life Ministries. Prior to that he served a year as Chaplain/Counselor at City Square (formerly His Hands) in downtown Greenwood Village. Littleton’s C.A.R.E. ministry counselor serves the Denver area community and through an intensive counseling program for those needing to come from across the country. Troy, Kim and their daughter Ellery are long time members at Littleton Church of Christ. Troy has served as an Elder for seven years.
The goal of counseling here is to facilitate the Holy Spirit’s work of revelation, transformation, and healing. Hurting people from
Denver and the country abroad are served with a unique approach to counseling that is Biblically-based, and powerfully effective. The focus is on presenting Christ as the solution for the person, the problem and the pain. The counselor deals with emotional, behavioral and relational difficulties in an atmosphere of love, acceptance, understanding and prayer. The C.A.R.E ministry’s desire is that all may come to know Christ not only as Savior, and Lord, but also as their very Life. The shift from self reliance to reliance on Christ through a counseling process is where healing from old and not so old hurts, along with relationship issues can reach a spirit guided resolution.
For the first time many counselees experience the freedom, joy, and peace that Christ intends for all who live, not from their own strength but in His strength alone. When appropriate, some time is spent developing an individual’s personal spiritual growth, and tools are provided to assist hurting people and couples in the knowledge of Christ as Life.
A Christian’s understanding of their identity, who they are in Christ, is of great value when dealing with life’s day to day and long term hurts, memories, and conflicts.
Troy’s family raises their own support. This fosters a reliance on God for sustenance through donated financial support. Littleton passes 100% of your tax-deductible independently designated support dollars to the Ellison family.
